The position
Qualifications/Skills Needed
Strong swim ability and can pass an American Red Cross Lifeguarding course. Experience or certifications teaching swimming, fencing, tennis, sailing, archery, rock climbing, riflery, canoeing, and/or soccer are preferred.
Training provided
Lifeguarding course provided; Staff Training emphasizes teaching activities, leading wilderness canoe trips, and behavior management for working with youth.
About the camp
Camp Chippewa is a residential boys overnight camp. Our mission is to develop Character through Adventure inspired by Tradition. Our goal is to help our campers and staff grow in their engagement, resilience, confidence, and leadership.

Camp Chippewa is located at the end of the road on a peninsula between Cass Lake and Buck Lake in the Chippewa National Forest.

Where you'll stay
Counselors live in open cabins with 4-8 campers and a co-counselor. Cabins have screen windows and overhead lighting.

Compensation & benefits
Camp counselors are paid a starting salary of $2500 with increases for experience and relevant certifications. Staff can also receive an American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification if they choose to participate in the free course offered at the beginning of Staff Training.
Minimum stipend provided for 9 weeks
